Name of the Project: Donation of Neonatal Equipment at 3 Major Hospitals in Zambia and Training Equipment to New-born Support Zambia

Objectives:  What you plan to achieve by the end of your project?

  • To reduce neonatal mortality from the current 30% by improving quality of care in small and sick neonates dying from prematurity, infection, and asphyxia at the NICU at the subject hospitals.

  1. The project is highly sustainable, because the project managers and partners ensure the proper use of equipment further will be made because training for maintenance is paramount.
  2. The students trained in the specialised care of neonates is made in their training and further payments are made by students and government too.

  • Project cure – an NGO based in the United States of America which donates used medical equipment.

  • New-born support Zambian – an NGO responsible for short term training for specialised medical care in neonatal care.

  • TBA – awaiting assessment from project cure personnel.
  • Initial cost of $4000 for assessment
  • $35,000 per 40foot containers transported to the nearest port.
  • $17.500 for training equipment
